About the Leader

Heidi Beachley

My yoga journey started in the winter of 2005 when a friend dragged me into a Hot Yoga studio reluctantly. After class, I decided the path of yoga was the one I’d been seeking my whole life and dove heart first into a Hot Yoga Teacher training.

I have seen miracles happen to people, or seekers (a sadhaka) that have a constant and determined practice (abhyasa). Those who dare step into this practice will heal emotional wounds, strengthen their bodies and minds.

My education includes:

  • Hot Yoga
  • Power Vinyasa
  • Yin Yoga with Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers
  • Pranic Breath work with Darren Main
  • Yoga for Cancer Survivors with Laura Kupperman
  • Continuing education w/the Iyengar yogins in Boulder, and India
  • 500 hour E-RYT certification in Professional Yoga Therapy through Integrative Yoga Therapy

Yoga goes way beyond the physical sheathes. It dives into the realm of spiritual enlightenment, and endless possibility. I teach yoga with a focus on anatomy, intensity, and humor. I do asana, anatomy, yoga nidra, meditation, and teach a 50 hour Yin Yoga Intensive training with the primary focus on Yoga Therapy. One of my favorite parts of teaching yoga is facilitating yoga retreats in Panama, Mexico, and India. My hope for the future is to study in Pune, India at the Iyengar Institute.

What to Bring

  • a yoga mat: our twice daily yoga sessions will be outdoors on the porch (hardwood)
  • yoga clothes: you will sweat! it won’t be too hot, but it’s by the ocean so there is definitely humidity.
  • a good book or two: nothing like swinging in a hammock with a good book, this is my favorite thing to do when it’s raining, so nice!
  • swimsuit, sunscreen, sun hat
  • bug repellent is helpful in the early evenings if you’re outside
  • casual summer/beach attire
  • a laptop….if you’re so inclined, even though the retreat is “off the grid” they do have satellite wireless
  • a journal….if you’re so inclined
